INSPIRATIONAL STORY

Inspirational stories about never giving up

There was an old mule. One day accidentally he fell into the farmer’s well. The farmer has evaluated the situation and thought to himself, that neither the well nor the old mule was worth the efforts to save them. Thus he decided to haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well.

So the farmer called his neighbours and together they started shoveling dirt into the well. The old mule was terrified and hysterical in the beginning. But soon one hopeful idea came to his mind – every time when a shovel of dirt landed on his back, he would shake it off and step up!

He repeated these words to himself again and again: „Shake it off and step up“. This way he could struggle the panic and encourage himself. After some time, the mule had stepped over the well‘s wall. Although terribly tired, he was the winner, he saved his own life. He decided to face his adversity positively and not to give up, and thus he won.

What seemed like it would bury him, actually saved him, owing to his confidence and unresting efforts.

Earthquake, how?

An earthquake is a phenomenon that results from the sudden release of stored energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. At the Earth's surface, earthquakes may manifest themselves by a shaking or displacement of the ground and sometimes cause tsunamis, which may lead to loss of life and destruction of property. An earthquake is caused by tectonic plates (sections of the Earth's crust) getting stuck and putting a strain on the ground. The strain becomes so great that rocks give way and fault lines occur.

Earthquakes are measured using observations from seismometers. The moment magnitude is the most common scale on which earthquakes larger than approximately 5 are reported for the entire globe. The more numerous earthquakes smaller than magnitude 5 reported by national seismological observatories are measured mostly on the local magnitude scale, also referred to as the Richter scale. These two scales are numerically similar over their range of validity. Magnitude 3 or lower earthquakes are mostly almost imperceptible or weak and magnitude 7 and over potentially cause serious damage over larger areas, depending on their depth. The largest earthquakes in historic times have been of magnitude slightly over 9, although there is no limit to the possible magnitude. The most recent large earthquake of magnitude 9.0 or larger was a 9.0 magnitude earthquake in Japan in 2011 (as of October 2012), and it was the largest Japanese earthquake since records began. Intensity of shaking is measured on the modified Mercalli scale. The shallower an earthquake, the more damage to structures it causes, all else being equal.

MY HOLIDAY!

My last Holiday is really amazing. I went to Thailand and it was so great there. I went to two big cities there, that is Bangkok and Pattaya. I went there from Soekarno Hatta airport at night time and safely landing at Svarnabhumi airport at day time. It takes 3 hours from Jakarta. My first day in Thailand is went to Pattaya. The beautiful scenery of the beach city was so great. The crystal water and white sand of Coral beach makes me relaxing but making my skin darker hahahaha. In Pattaya I went to Ripley's museum and Teddy Bear museum, it was so entertaining. The second day I went to Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. It was so fun there I bought a lot of clothings hahahaha!! These are some pics of me in Thailand

The Next Leader

So now I will discuss about being the next leader in the future. Have you already heard about "Everyone was born to be a leader"? Yes, Its absolutely true. Being a leader is not hard but not easy too because we have to be responsible for everything we do and manage. I think in the future I can be a good leader hahaha because I think I have much enough experience in leadership. I am the student council in my school and I am there as a public relations. I have my own vision and mission too for 1 year of my title.
My vision is:
- Become a good student both character and education.
- Manage all of my responsibilities as a public relation.
- Make OSIS LXI become the most successful generation
My mission is:
- Do my best in school's activity both academic and non-academic
- Make some programs that I have made for 1 year of my title.
- Support all School and OSIS programs

I have my motto for this, "Work hard, Play hard". It means that I have to be focus in reaching my vision and managing my mission as a leader, but I have to be good in social relationship too! :)
